Farthingloe Barn offers a peaceful, private and welcoming setting for funerals, memorials, wakes and celebrations of life. Set within tranquil surroundings, the barn provides a calm space where family and friends can come together to reflect, remember and celebrate the life of a loved one.
We understand that this can be an emotional and overwhelming time, and our approach is always gentle, flexible and supportive. Each gathering is treated with care, allowing families to create a farewell that feels personal and meaningful.
The Venue
The historic barn and its surrounding grounds offer space, privacy and tranquillity in a beautiful rural setting.
The venue is suitable for:

Venue Hire & Pricing
We offer flexible, hourly venue hire:
£125 per hour
Minimum booking: 2 hours
Venue hire includes:

Exclusive private use of the barn and surrounding grounds

On-site parking

Set-up and clear-down time within your booking

On-site support and coordination from the Farthingloe Barn team

Use of seating, tables and a simple layout arranged to suit your needs
Example pricing (for guidance):

Ceremony only (2 hours): £250

Wake only (3 hours): £375

Ceremony followed by a wake (4 hours): £500
Additional time can be added as required at £125 per hour, and longer hire periods can be accommodated by discussion.
Booking & Confirmation
To secure a date at Farthingloe Barn, a £50 booking fee is requested.
This booking fee:

Confirms your date and time in our diary

Secures exclusive use of the barn

Is non-refundable in the event of cancellation
The booking fee is deducted from the final balance, which is calculated after the event based on the total number of hours used.
Bar Facilities
For wakes, a fully stocked and staffed bar is provided as standard.
For ceremonies, the bar can be made available on request, either during the ceremony itself or afterwards, depending on the family’s wishes.
All arrangements are discussed in advance and handled sensitively.
Ceremonies & Officiants
Families are welcome to arrange their own officiant or celebrant.
While Farthingloe Barn does not provide a celebrant directly, we are very happy to introduce families to an experienced celebrant we trust, should this be helpful. Any arrangements and fees would be agreed directly with the celebrant.
Catering & Additional Support
We are happy to assist with sourcing catering options to suit a range of budgets and can recommend florists and other memorial suppliers if required. We can also introduce trusted local funeral directors should families wish for further support.
